Rhythm Energy offers Texans straightforward, competitive fixed-rate plans on 100% clean energy. The electricity supplier’s term lengths include 6, 12, 24, and 36 months.
Simply Digital 6, 12, and 36
The Simply Digital plans come in 6, 12 and 36-month terms. Like all of Rhythm’s plans, they offer 100% renewable energy.
They have competitive rates compared to other brands with straightforward pricing and low or no bill credits.
These electricity plans also include a $9.95 usage fee, Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU) fees, and an Early Termination Fee of $20 multiplied by the number of months remaining on your contract.
PowerShift 12
This time-of-use plan is designed for the proactive customer who wants to adjust when they use the most energy to reduce their monthly electricity bill.
During peak hours, from 6 pm to 10 pm, rates are very high. But during off-peak hours, from 12 am to 5:59 pm and 10 pm to 11:59 pm, your rates will be far lower. Things to note:
- It has a $9.95 monthly base charge.
- It has an Early Termination Fee (ETF) of $20/month remaining on the term.

Does Rhythm Require a Deposit?
Yes, Rhythm requires a deposit. However, if you have 12 on-time consecutive payments, you’ll be fully reimbursed.
Some residential customers may qualify for their Deposit Alternative Program, which requires a non-refundable deposit alternative fee.
Additionally, others may qualify for a deposit waiver, if they:
- Can produce a Letter of Credit from a previous provider
- Are aged 65 or older
- Are a victim of family violence
- Are medically indigent

30-Day Test Drive
Rhythm offers new customers a 30-day Test Drive.
You have a 30-day window to test out their service. If you’re unsatisfied, you can leave early with zero penalties.
Note that you must provide notification within 30 days of starting your service. If you cancel after the 30-day time period, you’ll be responsible for the Early Termination Fee, or ETF.

How can I cancel my Rhythm service?
You can terminate your agreement with Rhythm Energy at any time by calling 888-774-9846. You can also log into your account at www.gotrhythm.com and terminate there.
Be aware that if you cancel your plan early after your first 30 days but before your contract is up, there may be an Early Termination Fee, also known as a cancellation fee (see details in their plan EFLs and their “30-Day Easy Energy Promise”). While some light companies charge rates that range from $150 to $395, Rhythm typically charges $20 per month left in your agreement.
Transferring your Rhythm Energy plan
If you want to maintain your current energy plan with Rhythm, you can transfer your service if you’re moving to a deregulated service area.
For a seamless transition and to avoid any loss of electric service, we recommend contacting Rhythm at least 30 days in advance of your move.
Reporting a Power Outage
If you experience a Rhythm power outage, be sure to contact the Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU) in your service area. Your TDU transmits electricity and is responsible for maintaining power lines and infrastructure required to get power from Rhythm into your home.
